I’ve read some stuff in newspapers and various media outlets lambasting the President’s speech as an effort to indoctrinate students with a socialist agenda. I read the speech online and thought it was good. I’m thankful for a couple of clear headed, passionate preachers who say the same thing.

It was a waste of instructional time because it was lacking in any educational opportunities…the purpose of school. Additionally, it was changed following an outcry. He should be speaking to adults those who are of voting age. Parents are the primary influence in the lives of their children. My boys would not have gone to school, instead I would have listened/watched with them. It was inappropriate to go over the heads of the parents. We, the tax payers are in charge of the schools not the federal government. It would not matter who was speaking, President…. whoever, it is still the same, inappropriate for schools. If he was teaching/lecturing on something needed for educational purposes, i.e. presidential qualifications, historical 1st for presidents…. something educational that would be different. That would be purposeful and goal oriented. Perhaps even helpful on a test.
