Like Father, like daughter

As most of you know, our house can be a bit of a circus and often times we end up running late. This drives me nuts. Grandad and I have the same philosophy: if you’re not somewhere 5 minutes early then you’re late. Christin’s a little different. In any case, I’m glad that Naomi seems to be picking up a few of my anal tendencies good habits. Here’s an email Christin sent me about things Naomi’s said in the past few days:

The kids are playing Dr’s office.  Naomi is calling the names “Taylor Collier!!” “Ethan Walters!!”.  And then she says “YOU ARE LATE!! Your appointment is at 10:30 and that means you’re supposed to be here at 10:15!!”

HAHAHA!!!!
Last night she was telling me “Mommy, we have to be there early for pictures. The camera CLICKS at 11 so Daddy said we have to be there at 10:45. We can’t be late!!”
So, we were early to our Dr’s appt today and we WILL BE ON TIME tomorrow!! I have already calculated what time we need to get in the car tomorrow morning.  Have you been working with her???
Now that’s funny right there.

I grew up in a family, where we were late for everything. I think it might fall under a generational curse of some sort. No kidding. My entire family, was late to my Grandfather’s funeral. I go to hug my Grandma, and she says, “Mija, you know if your Grandpa wasn’t in that casket, he would have been late, too.”

I found it annoying in myself, and honestly borderline sin, on my part. So I started praying about it, and seeking practical ways to overcome that. We are not late very often, by Grace alone!
